Lots of talk about the Great Lakes this week but not near enough discussion about the passing of Howard Tanner, the man who is credited with saving the Great Lakes!?! In the 1960's, with beaches covered with dead fish and the food chain for fish being decimated, Howard's boss gave him an incredible project to save the Great Lakes. When he asked his boss what do you suggest? He was told that he had no idea but to do something...and MAKE IT SPECTACULAR!! His idea worked, the lakes were restored and over time it enhanced the multi billion dollar fishing industry that emerged.
