Beginning this weekend and running sixty days, the Frederik Meijer Gardens near Grand Rapids is the 31st annual Butterfly Exhibition. A thousand butterflies per week have arrived for a month and the gardens are buzzing with sixty species most of which are flown in from tropical locations around the world. Listen Saturday at 9AM as Doctor Will Schultz, DVM (retired) and Lee Cohen learn all about the exhibition and the gardens from Wendy Overbeck, Director of Horticulture. Wendy will share the preparations and planning that goes into the exhibit including the inspections and requirements that they have to meet. Learn about the different types of butterflies and what they do to keep them from mating, to keep them warm enough and provide the plants and nectars they need to survive at each stage of their evolution. The exhibition is 5 stories high and fifteen thousand square feet of their natural environments and thousands of butterflies. To learn the details, listen to this weekend's edition of the Mid Michigan Pet Expert Talk Show
