Doctor Colmery is a Board Certified Veterinary Oral Surgeon and Dentist with six decades experience in Ann Arbor where he still practices today. This week, Drs Colmery and Schultz discuss the evolution of dental care for animals through their long careers and the changes in technology which evolved beyond just the quality of the output, but also the speed and efficiency with which things can be done. Doctor Colmery is also an on-call veterinarian for places like the Detroit Zoo where we discuss the root canal he did on a polar bear and other truly bizarre stories of animal dental care. Finally, Doctor Colmery concludes with the tips on how you should care for your own animals teeth. When and how to do it, what food, what toys or bones, etc to keep from your pets and give to them so you don't end up adding his clinic to your speed dial. It's incredible that it took so long to figure out that animals have teeth too which might require care!?!
