When your pets have leg injuries or hip issues, surgery isn't always the answer. Even when it is, it is often incorporated with physical therapy and rehabilitation to regain the function your pet once had. Listen Saturday as Doctor Will Schultz, DVM (retired) and Lee Cohen discuss Char's Rehabilitation Center with Doctor Nicole Maurer, DVM. Rick Preuss from Preuss Pets is away and will rejoin us for next weeks show. Meantime, Doctor Maurer is an in-home, certified pet rehabilitation practitioner who can help diagnose the proper therapy and treatment for an injured or aging pet and implement it in your home versus an office setting. She utilizes techniques such as acupuncture, cold laser treatment, chiropractic, massage, etc. to help return your pet to comfort and improve performance. Doctor Maurer will even discuss weight loss and how to help with that. Then Doctor Stuhler from the Waverly Animal Hospital adds to the physical therapy conversation by discussing the Aquatic treadmill they have to assist animals utilizing both the buoyancy and the resistance from the water to help your pet regain the strength and physical health that is possible. If you can imagine a treadmill inside an aquarium, you're getting close! it's an interesting conversation we hope you enjoy on this weekend's edition of the Mid Michigan Pet Expert Talk Show on 1320 AM WILS on the radio
