Ed Rivet came to East Lansing from his hometown of Bay City as an 18 year-old freshman at MSU and found a home in the Lansing area for more than 36 years now.
Ed took his bachelor's and master's degrees in public policy from MSU into policy work at the State Capitol as Legislative Aide in the Michigan House of Representatives and then as a lobbyist for a statewide, grassroots non-profit organization. With over 32 years experience in state government, he has a deep knowledge of government and politics. He has been interviewed hundreds of times in all forms of media, appearing live on Good Morning America and CNN, and for articles appearing in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and many more.
An accomplished writer and speaker, Ed has published chapters in multiple books and a peer-reviewed professional journal. In addition to his countless speaking engagements, Ed is a professional trainer in communications.
Along with his policy work, Ed has been a teacher, a business and sales consultant, and several years as a "wedding DJ."
An Eagle Scout and former Scoutmaster, Ed has also been involved with the Knights of Columbus, 4-H, and other community service groups. Married to Michelle for over 30 years, they are blessed with 6 children, two of whom are married and two grandchildren.
